The agreement comes on the heels of OPTEL Group’s acquisition of Körber’s track-and-trace unit in January 2022. OPTEL Group will become Körber’s preferred pharmaceutical track-and-trace solutions vendor, which will allow both companies to expand their packaging capabilities and full-stack solutions around the world. Integrated life science solution provider Körber will be OPTEL’s preferred partner when it comes to pharmaceutical packaging. Customers around the globe will thus benefit from this tight-knit collaboration by gaining access to premium packaging and traceability solutions.
“This partnership agreement is a natural extension of our recent acquisition and our continued manufacturing of OPTEL’s pharma track-and-trace technology stack.,” explained Louis Roy, Founder and President at OPTEL Group while visiting OPTEL's newly acquired site in Feldkirchen, Germany. “With a shared commitment to developing leading-edge technologies and a global footprint that is second to none, OPTEL and Körber will offer customers the traceability and packaging solutions customers need to remain competitive and compliant in today’s hypercompetitive markets.”
Dr. Jürgen Krebs, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Körber’s Business Area Pharma, echoed Roy’s sentiments. “It is the perfect fit for both companies. We believe that the value our businesses bring to the table will allow customers to elevate their compliance to the industry’s strict regulatory and safety standards – all while giving them the equipment they need to boost operational intelligence and efficiency.”
Since its founding in 1989, OPTEL Group has become the world’s foremost provider of trackand- trace solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. It is uniquely positioned as the only global company with the ability to provide complete, full-stack supply chain traceability.
