Labels and package inserts

Absolute precision for your package inserts

Precision packaging: Labels, leaflets & combination products

Pharmaceutical packaging requires accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. At Körber Pharma, our labels, leaflets, and combination products are designed to meet these demands while enhancing production performance.

From high-quality labels ensuring clear identification to precisely crafted leaflets and integrated combination solutions, our packaging offerings support patient safety and regulatory requirements. With advanced materials and manufacturing expertise, we help you achieve seamless, reliable packaging that meets industry standards.

Full flexibility and customization for your labels

Adhesive and wet glue or sequential labels

In black-white or multi-coloured, on a roll or as a bow, with Braille, laminated, varnished, embossed or stamped. We meet the highest standards while specialising in the production of printed products for the pharmaceutical industry.

In digital label printing, we enable you flexibility and customisation. Your labels can be refined and personalised entirely according to your personal requirements.

At Bähren, no label leaves the company without undergoing a camera inspection first. This helps us to view even the smallest detail and detect and sort out errors early on.
Due to its decades of experience and production of labels, Bähren has several thousand stamping tools in all forms that may fit your product already. Please seek consultation in the planning phase of your labels to find out what possibilities exist.

Adhesive labels

Most of our label production is in the field of roll adhesion labels or also self-adhesive labels, which are used in the industrial filling of various products.

They are ideal for labelling and showing the brand not just in the pharmaceutical industry. In the food and cosmetics industry, they are indispensable on account of the versatile and high quality printing substrate, finishing possibilities and printing processes. With this variability, we expansively cover the broadest application areas and help you to make the right choice.

Adhesive labels can be safely, quickly and easily dispensed onto the most varied surfaces and they are a must on packaging lines. That is why they are most often ordered as rolled goods for machine processing, but can also be supplied as single labels or sheet material for manual identification.
The shapes, colours, finishes and materials are almost unlimited due to the different production paths at our company.

Wet glue labels

Wet glue labels, unlike adhesive labels, first have adhesive mechanically applied before application, usually directly by the bottler or customer. The adhesion to usually smooth surfaces is similar to self-adhesive labels.

Since these types of labels can be offered more cost-effectively, despite their high quality requirements, they are very popular, especially for high print runs. The lack of an adhesive application before the dispensing allows for a long storage time. After using the product, the labels can easily be removed again and the containers, bottles or cans can then be reused.

Individualisations

Finishing possibilities

  • Numbering
on the rear side ideal for balancing

  • Braille
transparent Braille dots and marks, which do not interfere with the legibility of the underlying information

  • Embossing
recessed or raised areas in the material surface

  • Varnishing
for protection or for visual effects (glossy, matte | partial, full-surface)

  • Lamination
to protect against severe stresses, such as liquids

Safety elements

  • Microschrift
printed extremely small font, which can usually only be seen with a magnifying glass and not with the naked eye

  • Fluorescence
printed invisible elements that are only visible under UV light

  • Coin Reactive
printed invisible elements that are made visible by scrubbing with metal (e.g. coin)

  • Hologram
applied as a strip, text or logo in various patterns with gold and metal effects

  • Safety punching
integrated safety punching, which irreversibly destroys the label when removed

  • Individualisation/Barcodes
including personalisations, serialisations, numbering - simply one-of-a-kind!

Special materials

  • No-Label-Look
Especially in the cosmetics or beverage industry, transparent labels have now become a cost-effective and easily replaceable alternative to the direct printing of products.
The labels are printed on clear flexible films with special adhesives, which on various surfaces make it possible to only see the printing and therefore are "no label".
Various finishing options can also give these labels a high quality character, which once again clearly highlights the product in a broad product range.

  • Unique fibre-fingerprint

  • Void/Split/Destructible/No-Stick

Types of labels

Barcode labels

These days, more and more products are being provided with barcodes in all industries and sectors. Especially in the pharmaceutical industry, barcodes have always played a key role in a wide variety of designs.

With our many years of experience in this field, we have a tremendous selection of different forms of implementation of your barcode labels. Be it vignettes for the unique identification and sustainable traceability of medications or EAN labels for the structured identification and allocation of your sensitive products, which is indispensable in the laboratory field. The entire production and supply chain can be completely monitored here.

Services

We create the standard-compliant barcode label with the information you require. We can also take on the management of your numbering groups in sequential labels and make the uninterrupted sequential numbering easier for you for orders.

Types of Barcodes
  • 2D-/QR-Barcodes
  • EAN-Codes in different designs
  • Laetus / pharmaceutical codes
  • Unique fibre-fingerprint
  • and much more

Identification labels

Identification labels can be used in one's own operating environment for the unambiguous allocation of IT hardware, office equipment, cabinets, shelves, tools or machines.

The shape and design of the varied materials also know no limits here. Individually designed and possibly even sequentially coded, they offer the right overview.

To protect against tampering, self-destroying films can also be used, which when pulled off leave behind significant residues or materials with safety punchings, which break incompletely when tearing off.

Individual labels

Individual labels can be used for the most varied purposes. They are not only used for simple identification purposes, but can also reflect the company or association logo through the individual design.

These labels can then be distributed in quantity at events. We can also offer you the labels on a sheet so that it is possible to print on common printers and they are ideal as shipping labels or for container identification.

Tamper Evident Etikett

The possibilities to collect evidence tampering (tamper evidence) on the labelled good are very diverse. For example, the lid of a can or bottle can be connected with the rest of the label with a seal, which is destroyed during the initial opening. Frequently, this is a so-called wet adhesive label, which peels off easily without being destroyed due to the type of glue used and can be reattached. The paper seal thus indicates the initial opening in its function, but it is easy to tamper with and make the tampering hard to see.

At this point, a variety of combinations of top material, adhesive and punching tools are used. For example, it may well be desired that the top material peels off without damage, but the adhesive remains on the product.

This may be black and thus cover the underlying information or show lettering, such as Void. Different colours as well as texts and font sizes are also possible here.

So-called split or destructible materials can also be used here. The top material is destroyed here in that it always tears (split) or is destroyed (destructible). With all options, the adhesive must be tailored to the product to be adhered to as well as be tailored to the storage properties.

Furthermore, almost any material can be provided with additional geometric stamping shapes within the label in order to force the destruction or tearing of materials that are not set as split or destructive when an attempt is made to peel them off.

o prevent unwanted reprinting (anti-counterfeit) possibly on the correct top material, different features can be applied during printing, as with banknotes These include, in particular, variable data in a closed system, such as securPharm® or our Fiber Fingerprint solution.
Printing technology offers coin reactive colours, partial luminescence, micro-inscriptions, hot foil stamping / holograms; possibly with one's logo and for B2B shipping of customer-specific taggets with special end devices.

Unique fibre-fingerprint

A special adhesive label with a variety of safety elements (personalisations, serialisations, fluorescence elements, micro-inscription, FIBRE-FINGERPRINT) and possible safety punching.

In this way, protection against initial opening as well as the greatest possible counterfeiting security is achieved and they also ensure that the opening, tampering with or copying of products is made difficult or impossible. The special highlight is the "FIBRE FINGERPRINT - TRACK & TRACE" feature. This allows you to check online on your smartphone or other devices where your unique label was scanned and sold, anywhere in the world.

The fluorescent impressions could even be personalised and show a continuous barcode or serial number.

Due to the high resistance, they can be used indoors or outdoors without worry and cannot be reused after application due to the safety punching or the VOID materials. Either the label tears or the adhesive layer is destroyed and is therefore unusable.

Absolute precision for your package inserts

Customer-specific developments or the established industry standard. We are your partner for development and production.

A package insert should be easily legible, understandable and easy to use for patients. Due to the EU Directive 2004/27/EC (Readability Guideline), this should be ensured by the following specifications:

  • Minimum font size of 9 points
  • Minimum line spacing of 3 mm
  • Folding edges should not impair the readability
  • Sufficient contrast between the font and paper colour
  • Sufficient opacity of the paper
  • etc.

Of course we guarantee absolute precision for each of our package inserts. Namely through camera inspection, inline measurement and in-process control in production.

Constant quality and accuracy are a matter of course with us. For at Bähren, exclusively trained specialists handle the exact operation of printing and folding machines and compliance with the quality-related, customer-specific and GMP guidelines.

Plano package inserts

Likely the simplest type of a package insert to be supplied. In most cases, these package inserts are processed further by our customers in the packaging line.

The package inserts are stacked as 500 or 1,000 units, covered with solid cardboard on top and bottom, bundled and wrapped in film. The colour coding of the perforated film ensures a simple manual opening of the containers, perfect for industrial processing with the least possible time expenditure and without injuries.

Of course we also fold your package inserts to the desired small format for you.

Folded package inserts

We offer you a variety of folding combinations (parallel, zigzag / leporello or folded seam, crossbreak):

  • Pre-folded
  • End-folded
  • The smallest folds

Outserts/Inserts

The requirements of the Readability Guideline and the constantly increasing regulatory part of the packaging inserts result in an increasing space requirement, which leads to larger package inserts. This results in complex, further processed and compact products.

In addition, increasingly more information carriers are being placed in the packaging, such as the device and medication part, doctor and pharmacist part, doctor and patient part, several language versions as well as an additional Patient Alert Card.

  • with closure labels
  • with glue dots
  • with perforation
  • with aqua scoring
  • with integrated mailing solutions

2in1 or 3in1 outsert

Three products that are made from just one printed sheet. 3-in-1 separates into its individual parts by opening the closure label. Thus several package inserts can be dispensed with just one step.

t[w]o tear ®

Two or more products that are made from just one printed sheet. If you tear the products at the perforation, you will get practical, book-like products.

Thus various information for different addressees (doctor, pharmacist and customer part or device and medication part or several language versions) can be dispensed with just one step.

Connection sheet

In addition to thin printed materials, cardboard boxes can also be processed in a high quality and safe manner.

We offer grooved, perforated and sealed folded products (glue dot or closure label), which can also be equipped with a re-moistenable gumming for the easy and secure closure of a reply card (connection sheet).
